Burning Days selection Un Certain Regard overshadowed by prison sentence Çiğdem Mater
The selection of Burning Days by Emin Alper for the main section of the 75th Cannes film festival is overshadowed the devastating news that dear producer friend Çiğdem Mater was sentenced to 18 years of prison in the Gezi trial together with six co-defendants. The main axis of accusations against Çiğdem was trying to raise financing for a documentary project about the Gezi Park movement which was never made.
