Extra funding for Calimucho

The Dutch Film Fund has given a boost to Eugenie Jansen’s Calimucho. In addition to the support of 450.000 Euro, Calimucho received another 350.000 this week. Earlier this year, the Fund invited eight projects that were blocked in their financing to apply for extra money. The extra production support went to two – “the most exciting and promising” – films. Calimucho is set up as a coproduction between CosmoKino (B), Volya Films (NL) and ICON Film (NRW). Shooting is planned for this summer.

Dutch premiere of Wander to Wonder at IFFR

Nina Gantz’s animation Wander to Wonder will premiere at IFFR on 20 January after a busy festival tour since Venice’s Orrizonti last year. W2W was screened at (a.o.) Winterthur, Ljublijana and Leuven and won the Golden Spike for best short film at SEMINCI in Valladolid. Upcoming festivals are Santa Barbara and SXSW in the US. […]
